Yesterday, on September 14, at a festive gala dinner held in Tallinn, in Estonia concert hall, the best performing Estonian companies were awarded. Enterprise Estonia (EAS) awarded the main prize of Entrepreneurship Award 2011 to OÜ Fortumo. According to the charts of Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Estonian Employers Confederation, the most competitive company was AS EMT.
In addition to the two main prizes the most competitive companies were chosen in other 13 categories. The company named the most competitive in wholesale sector was AS Oilseeds Trade. (In 2008 we were named the most competitive company in agriculture and forestry).
In the general table AS Oilseeds Trade was placed on a good fourth place, following such large companies as EMT, BLTR Grupp and Riigi Kinnisvara, and preceding the fiercest rival, Baltic Agro.
The prizes given out based on the competitiveness chart that has been put together for the ninth year in a row is the highest acknowledgement by the state to well-performing Estonian companies.
The best in different categories were chosen by experts of different areas, and the winner of the main prize by a high-class panel chaired by the Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications, Juhan Parts.
